Azymuth has become one of my favorite fusion bands over the years so I was quite happy to find them in your collection. Sampled both of their tracks + a few of the others.

Nice one! Yeah, I got heavy into Azymuth a few years ago, got most of their discography now

They did a Boiler Room set that was really great few years ago (Their new guy on keyboard still real nice too)

I was a little overwhelmed with the amount of material to work with but that's a great problem to have. I ended up just going with the first thing that really caught my attention. Ironically it was a 70's funk song instead of something more exotic. I'm definitely going to use some of these other songs in the future though.

Oh wow loving this! I think this is my favourite track that I've ever made. :D Along with my Monthly Battle track that I submitted yesterday which I was also super happy with it's been some weekend!

Due to there being lots of good samples to use I couldn't pick just one or two so made a 2 part track. Pt1 one flips Azymuth - Montreal City along with a bass I played and Pt2 flips Pratagy - Tramas Sutis and Orlandivo - Onde Anda o Meu Amor. I also chopped up a 90s Brazilian radio interview for vox shots and played some other little bits and pieces.

Some additional notes:

I hope everyone finds something good to flip here, I tried to go for a variety of sounds and even decades including some newer favorites such as Fabiano Do Nascimento and Pratagy. Also, while technically not from Brazil, I had to include a couple tracks from the 'Brazil' movie soundtrack as an easter egg haha-- A great movie if you haven't seen it before! Finally, I wasn't going to include Wave originally because it has been covered a million times, but I totally forgot about the Walter Wanderley version which is def one of my favorites - His organ sound is quite different, might be fun to play with this one :)

I made another beat.

Kept it simpler this time and added an acapella of two german MCs i like.
Sorry to those of you who don't understand german. It's a non-entry anyways.

Have fun!

I really appreciate the kind words man, I was probably having the worst day I've had in some years on Friday and putting together the tracks for this battle helped me end a bad day happy.. Thanks again for letting me have a chance to host!

I was really looking forward to what you'd cook up for this battle, well now you got me hyped for your Brazil tape!!!! I was very interested in hearing your take on any of these because I think your production style in particular would mesh so well with the rhythms, all the live instrumentation and effects you bring, seriously can't wait to hear what you do put together. Def be sure to let us all know when this is done (and I'm def interested in a cassette!!) -- if you happen to want any more Brazil goodies def hit me up :)

Loving the entries so far everyone! Happy to see so many different flips, when this battle is done I'm def saving this compilation as a little mixtape to listen to later on haha
