i was thinking about an alternative to voting ( and winning ) to switch this up from the weekly even more..
but still have a way for the next person to pick an aca and decide on samples .. and whether to provide some at all

so far i have:

- let the person who's aca it is decide ..

- random .. internet random picker site

- ..

also i could just supply the acas and not have a winner or samples ?

i'd like to hear other thoughts on this matter ..

OR- Have the winner provide the sample

...

we could have a 'randomizer' pick the aca btw..

or the current rapper pick the winner ..or even the next aca..

also we might not want samples at all.. maybe just the odd detail to use..

these sessions aren't intended to be a longer version of the weekly..

so maybe move away from winners altogether and have a cypher or so..

you can also tweak your ( multiple ) entries till the deadline.. etc.

so basically almost everything's opposite to the weekly

I quite liked having little to no rules and choose your own samples to best fit the acapella provided... as its a remix challenge it gives people more options to flavour the finished production with their particular style etc..

I don't mind having samples provided but in a way, the acapella is the 'sample' in this case - and we're all structuring a beat to suit that.

Hello,
Here's my contribution :)
I use the capella and the darbuka at two moments!
Classic rap variations....

I often participate in SKIO MUSIC remix contests, where original stem tracks are provided.
The contests are business driven, so the artists who provide the stems pay the organisers for promotional purposes and in the hope that their songs will spread through the contest.
These days, the winner can use his/her own song as the theme for the remix contest if he/she wishes (if the guy has a vocal track).
Remixers who enter need to follow the stem providers on Spotify or Soundcloud
I don't think everyone here is ready to make a business out of this yet, so I'm sure some of this won't be helpful, but I thought I'd post it here to give you an idea.

I think making this a remix contest is cool. If someone has a great aca, just throw it into the randomizer. I also think it would be great if there would be some variation of styles but maybe that's there already - I dont know the "pool". I would also be open to non-rap stuff or everything that moves away from classic rap stuff, othert bpms etc. Grime, Trap, whatever. And if the winner of a battle has a crazy good idea or wants to have special set of rules s/he can post it and go for it?! :) I like these kind of rules sometimes because they get me out of my comfort zone :)

also, here's my remix:
