Niche House, Jungle and D n B production

Mon Dec 16, 2019 9:08 pm

I've been listening to a lot of hopper1000, ksetdex, MOM$ etc. I'm really wanting to try producing my own style in that vein I feel and I'm wondering if you guys have tips on sampling drums. Crisp effects, manipulation, what the hell are some cult jungle breaks? Ableton advice? Things to look out for? Anything really would help.

Welcome to the board.

erm... I've not heard of the folks you've mentioned and a search doesn't really return much but they seem mostly inspired by early 90s jungle with some random lofi hip hop and house tracks.

I feel like this is a bait/troll thread to trigger me on a long ramble about breaks, samplers and 90s jungle and dnb. I shall resist.

The simple answer is pick the style you want to make and stick with it. If it's jungle and/or dnb start..

Majority of the core breaks needed for all the sampling genres are the same, those 2 sites got you covered for now. For instant easy access you can also grab "Zero G: Jungle Warfare Vols 1-3" and "Zero G: EZ Rollers Drum & Bass Producer Pack" which are classic sample cd's from 90/00s so you can't go wrong.

Download some breaks/samples and pick a youtube tutorial in one of those threads from a producer you like to get a feel for it.

That should get you started.
