Footwork

Sat Nov 10, 2018 4:03 am

Any of you guys into footwork? The communities working on this music reminds me a lot of how we interact here haha. Good article on Teklife https://pitchfork.com/features/article/ ... next-life/

My favorite more 'classic' one

RIP Rashad

Damn this is a great mix, listening at work

Cool doc on Teklife/footwork community. I always wondered what the process of making a track was like when they have like 3-4 DJs noted as featured, like how they show some of this here. The way they work together and give credit to everyone is awesome.

dude my favorite shit, even though it's not strictly footwork shit, is machinedrum's Room(s) album. This is the funkiest cut probably but there's a ton of great shit on that record, which IMHO is an experimental/bass heavy classic a la Burial's Untrue, Rustie's Glass Swords, or Zomby's Dedication

Machinedrum is legit, I think he worked with Rashad on some things. I really like the tribute album he put out too (All I Really Want is def one of my favorite footwork tunes ever). Rooms is a sweet record
