Wikipedia:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stereolab
For those who don't know, Stereolab are a French/English band with a unique combination of all kinds of influences like jazz, indie, 50s and 60s scifi type sound effects, bossa nova, easy listening etc - I believe Dilla was a fan also

Samples

Rules:
Sample any of the provided tracks however you like, or any other Stereolab song
Their sound is pretty consistent so the challenge/source material should still be similar for everyone even with the very open rules

Everything else allowed

If anyone wants to search around youtube/online/their collection for other Stereolab songs feel free!
I also found this 8 bit version of Emperor Tomato Ketchup that has a lot of cool bitcrushy/lofi sounding material

Happy beatmaking!

Hell yeah!! I first learned of them when I worked at Discogs, but then got into more of their discography from the re-releases they put out a year or two ago I think?

Anyway, a couple favorites of mine (feel free to use - but they have a TON of great stuff to choose from). Dope battle idea, congrats on the win!!

Lots of interesting stuff to use, but especially love the bit at 4:10

Someone could use the drums/bass at the start...

Not sure if much to flip here, but this is actually my favorite song of theirs I think

Edit: Also good picks in the folder Lonius!

Thanks man! Those are some dope ones too, I also considered diagonals cause of those intro drums
I didn't know about the rereleases till I looked them up on Youtube today and the last I heard was that they'd gone on indefinite hiatus
wikipedia said they reunited for some performances too, hope they eventually start putting out new material again!

Hey All, I could never be a Star Baker like Mr. Paul Hollywood but I might have a shot at Star Wake'n'Baker. I do think others in this forum would have me beat by a mile in that competition though. Great band for the theme this week.I really dig her vocals and I hear the girls in France don't wear no underpants so i think I am in love.

Peace, Hugh

Hello! here's a non entry for this category;
I was digging tracks from stereolab and i found "percolator" and i felt a huge need to remake and rearrange it

Original:

Remake:

This is probably the most fun that i had lately; the project is a mess of grid breaking rules over fruity loops as the track its 5/8 and i realized that very far on the process.
i tried to integrate samples but it was to late; but man this was cool.

Good luck and good week.
