live instruments - keys, guitar, drums, sax, trumpet, harp, double bass.. whatever just nothing too tech.
... what about an analog synthesizer? :D

As much as I love analogue synths.. it would be awesome if peeps stuck to no external synths or VST instruments.. sorry if this is killing your vibe Per.. hopefully there are enough synths to sample. Can't tell if you are joking or not 😅

I updated my original post with these included in the ruleset.

Tbf.. I reckon these sounds will be a gift that keeps on giving

Can't wait to see what you and everyone else ends up making 🙌🏽

External synths and instruments are forbidden?
Yo.. unfortunately external synths & VST instruments are not allowed (my bad.. shoulda specified) as I feel there is mos definitely more than enough synth material to cultivate from the provided source material..
So I've tweaked Marrak's samples and created an instrument out of it. Here's my entry:

Out to my boy Renzo on the excellent selections and asking me to do my first STBB. I managed to sneak at least a second of every sample onto this beat, plus some thunder that I recorded a few months back and a phone conversation I had with myself. Some dope entries so far keep em comin!

Yo what's good peps?
Dope rules and samples this week.

So hot here in Essex right now...

I cooked up this beat this evening.

I chopped up the samples Tempest, Friendly, Goldy vocal and Marrak Modular 3.
Made a 3 Bar drum loop at 88 bpm and then added my chops. Once I had some nice loops. I arranged them into some sort of track....
I don't have a external mic, so I used my MacBook voice memo, while my track was playing in the background while I was :blunted:
Not the best levels on the mix.

:salute: :vulcan: :peace:
Peace Mox

So.. i was figuring out what to show you with the optional rule around here, and i recorded pretty much the thing i most listen to every day hehe and i used as a skit one advice i found on youtube that i took it literally. (the intro was my first take on the samples, beats and project and instead of throwing it away i've used it as intro)
I went as main sample with Elsa Hewitt - Guilt-Free! and used some "bird" from Bambooman - Shelley and a perc from Marrak - Samples 04. (just outside drums for this one)

I Hope you enjoy.

(i've started a thread about mastering and loudness over the production sub where if you want we can share some tips and tricks i've actually used on this track; let me know if it feels louder than anything i've made before this few months)

Good luck! :D

thx for clarifying!
No worries, did not use any vsts aside for the bass, FX and Mixing! Was kind of a joke :D

Those samples are more than enough! Big s/o to the original artists!

Hello world !
First congratulation Renzo for your road movie sountrack of victory ! Really really nice sample from your friend, and I had a lot of fun with the skit rules ! For the skit, the audio is from a conversation with my friends about my long lost but still loved plush called "bébé éléphant" it was really fun to dig this in my old party record ! I added a bass, some vocals, some drums and that all.
Thanks for having me !
