Let´s give it up for

STBB #693
Bedroom
Radio
I recorded something straight from my currently favorite radio station, no planning, not knowing whats about to come up. After going through a collection of samples that didn´t convince me, I thought this could be both interesting and challenging ...it felt like playing "rhythm roulette" in the youtube show.
hope you like it - and if you don´t - don´t blame me, blame the chance :)

 Rules:
1. Use something from all 3 samples in some form
2. No Snares on 2 or 4 - come up with some interesting drum pattern that goes beyond the regular.

3. - OPTIONAL RULE: Go for something bedroom'y, lush, smooth if you want to.

No outside samples - outside instruments, fx and bass allowed

Have fun :)
:peace: SEN

Congratz Sen! A rule question, just to be sure,. "No outside samples - outside instruments, fx and bass allowed ". Meaning, nothing allowed outside the given samples, or only samples not allowed. I gues only samples not allowed...?

I assume: no outside melodic samples.. as per usual in this wording.

used all three samples, carefully though :)

kind of a hard challenge to make work, specially cause in hip hop that snare carries most of the energy and groove!
Imo some of the entered beats only somehow fit the rules since they seem to just have put in a few extra bars at the start, but "logically" the snare is still is placed at 2 and 4 in the groove..

hope you enjoy this quickie!

sort of agree on naturelleboombap: you can hear it as hitting on 3, but the groove is also easily felt with snare on 2 and 4 in halftime (dope beat though).
disagree on swoop/supa alien: the cross stick hits on upbeats in the halftime groove. if you're drawn into hearing it on 2 and 4, then the whole arrangement and all the drum programming sounds oddly displaced.

this is a challenge, i tried to start something over the weekend but couldn't catch a good idea. maybe i'll give it another chance today

First post over here, been digging the vibe. Everything sourced from the provided free range, locally sourced tracks, some of it doused in FX.

Hopefully I didn't embarrass myself too much :D
