Yo whats up guys, I've been wanting to join a battle for a while now. My free time just happens to be the opposite of when the battle happens! So Im glad I was able to crank this joint out real quick. Normally It takes me a week or two to get a track out so it was a nice challenge to finish this in a couple hours. All done on MPC 1000 and exported to ableton and did some light mastering but nothing special. Chopped one song and isolated the horns from another to add as a little top layer in the last half. Great samples by the way! Hope you guys are doing alright, much love :peace:

congrats Julian.
when I read the rules I was like, oh that's a shame no raps..
but then I somehow forgot about it.
probably coz of all the snot in my head.
just had to get this off.. and outta my chest litterally.
something went awry with the stereo on the vocal mix..but it's a non-entry and the time's up so..
almost all sounds from the samples.

pz paisanos!

RIP to the legend.

Used a bunch of his amazing sounds to make some sampler instruments in Maschine and played those into Logic. Best part about this was a good reason to listen to Manu Dibango for days on end.

Congratulations on the win and picking a fantastic challenge.

sampled the first part for the main flute, some chord layer from the second, some different layers for the snare and kick from somewhere and tiny bits and pieces from everywhere. and some voice chops from an interview

hope you enjoy this interesting combination of genres.
