Struggled!

Sampled some stabs from wizard of oz - Twister theme song, was a go to film for me and my mum when i was a kid, we loved that shit!

Used some small cuts from the sample we we're supposed to use alongside it too, albeit very small chops, like the vinyl stop lol..

Very short one from me and didn't take very long :D

Anyways....

Good Luck!

Congrats on the win Johnny North,

Unfortunately my original intro idea to this was canned at the last minute. I did a 4 minute or so of different songs that contained the words mother and father or alternative like mama/papa etc between a FM radio being tuned in like you was trying to find a station but Soundcloud was being super fucking anal about copyright infringement

I did try to make something that would make my parents proud but it seems I'm a lost soul

Hey people, how we all doing?

This flip is Dedicated to my Father, he was really into classical music. as well as some Jazz and other interesting styles.
I'm lucky in a way I guess that he collect vinyl and I have his collection. Many many dusty records!
Anyway I used a little bit by Tomaso Albinoni. Adagio In G Minor, along with the sample chopped up and some drums and filters.

Good Luck people.
peace.

track made for my mother. I remember her listening to Gloria Estefan when I was in my teens.
had a rocky youth and l "left" home early.. didn't see my family for a couple of years.
the last year especially my mother and I have been growing towards each other more.
the picture is of my sone who likes to jump.. and fly and travel.
him and my mom have a nice bond.

I enjoyed reading your little back stories and yours in particular Detritus.
My father and I share the same love for sci-fi.

the weepy synth is from the sample.

Hey Joa, I didn't leave home early. I was thrown out and couldn't even take a blanket. I was the black sheep for sure. I eventually wound up in rehab but that did not take. i eventually fled the country for a change of locale to escape bad habits. I really didn't chill out til I had my own kids plus i was getting too old for that shit anyways. I still appreciate a kind bud though, always will. Peace, Hugh

Spent a lot of time and effort reprogramming/-playing the bassline and drums of the provided sample after rearranging the whole thing - so the first part is _kind of_ an Edit.
The sample could well be from my father's record collection so I tried to keep that vibe, rejuicing dat ting.

Second part is intended to be a mellow, contemporary journey which my parents would probably not enjoy so much (could be wrong though.... Well, thats why I decorated it with some voice samples from the legendary austrian TV Documentary Alltagsgschichten, all saying stuff my my parents would never say.
