Alice in Wonderland-esque themed battle.
In either using musical / vocal samples from the different adaptations of the story, or using the video-game soundtracks as the main sample material. Lots of creative potential with a challenge that explores the descent into the rabbit hole.
Its a bit weird but i thought of a beat battle idea....
What if people could choose an Original Sound Track from an 80s Action Movie (so must have been released in cinemas between 1/1/80 - 31/12/89) to sample on a first come first served basis. So the first to claim an OST on the battle thread claims it then makes a beat from it... Then you must use only vocal samples from the movie you picked.
Then at the end you'll have lots of different beats from different movies and could make a mixtape out of it hehe
Hey guys.... was going to do this idea for this weeks battle but though it would be a bit too convoluted... what do you think??

Hey all, This showed up in my google feed. I loved it. It might be a change of pace from nice melodic stuff we usually chop up.
also this one might have more of a world beat thing going on in it
Just some ideas in case we get desparate. Peace, Hugh

COLOURS
WEEK
Each member picks a colour and they have to use a sample from one or more sources that relate to that colour.
For example Brown - James Brown/Jackie Brown/Golden Brown, Red - Gypsy Blood/Red Snapper/Red Dead Redemption, Green - The Green Mile/Greensleeves/Incredible Hulk etc.
The host would pick a colour (if they wanted) and leave the challenge open to allow members to pick their own colours or use the provided samples.
I think this theme has so many possible sources/samples it could work as an annual event like Mandela Collab week or Dilla week.

Hey Guys, I bought this cd in Atlanta recently and I had to make a google drive download so I could listen to it cause my cd drive is busted so I am sharing it with whoever digs the Cramps and/or kinda rockabilly. It is 61 songs so gives you many choices if used for a beat battle, Peace Hugh
There's this channel on SC called https://soundcloud.com/beatbrasilis
They have some dope Brazilian samples, we should visit Brazil, have some 6/8 rhythms
