Since last week was fun, let's do another samples only week, without a tricky acapella-special this time,
but you'll have to use at least a bit out of each of the four. (the more noticeable the better, but no extra points, sorry  )

To clarify the ruleset: no external anything!

THE SAMPLES (wav 16bit + mp3)
https://we.tl/t-WVp6Rm3Vbt

hope you enjoy + have fun

For easy browsing's sake, you can also go to the STBB page: https://soundcloud.com/stbbcollection

As long as we use all 4 samples are outside drums allowed and/or external instruments?

Tricky! Stem'd most of the tracks to get drums and stuff out then lot of filtering and automation to get it to work - piano is a single note from one of the samples, tuned to C then played

sampling has died, jkjk..

thought of this after Julian wrote last week he'd extracted the stems.. " next time there's a no outside anything' rule it could also say ' no splitting stems etc."

edit: oh, and no micro-looping either..

anyway.. since that's on for this week.. here's a good splitter for those who are new to that type of thing..

https://vocalremover.org/splitter-ai

i think it has about 4 free goes (?)

i personally get a thrill from isolating / eq'ing / filtering.. masking/layering samples .. but this splitter tool can definitely come in handy sometimes

main synth was the sax at the end of Sample 3
other harmonic layers from 1 2 & 4
drums from 1, 3 & 4

Thanks man! no theres some long sax notes at the end of Track 3 (technically a bonus sample lol) that I put into abletons simpler to play like a keyboard. Then track 4 has some nice drumless elements at the end as it fades out... the piano sound came from sample 2 (3:02) layered with the tail of a guitar (0:49) in sample 1 :keyboard: :guitar:

yooooo. i remember one that effed us up pretty good a long time ago. i think it was like no outside anything and we couldnt use effects lol. i think breakmaster cylinder won that shit. that had to be one of the roughest weeks. also i think it was you that threw up that challenge where we used waveforms only to make all our sounds. that was a fun and rough one too. good times cuzzo.

i'd be down!

i mean i shamelessly use a tool called moises (highest qual stem splitter ive foud) all the time but it would be interesting to go back to the old ways.

used parts of samples 1,3 and 4. very small bit of the cymbals from 2 so dunno if that counts. all layered loops and one hits.

not samples i would normally reach for so great challenge this week

vocals added here as well: https://youtube.com/shorts/aOOnbpevrwA? ... j7EbX6tgwD
