Heres my entry if I had more time I wouldve probably mixed it a bit better but been busy at work so did what I could with the time I had. I used 2 parts of Back in Nam, Eznat for bass and L'Enfant for the main sample arrangement I did some vocal percussion bits, whistles and the raps. The lyrics are on SC they have a apocalyptic parenting vibe partly inspired by my son and his hatred for bedtime ;)

  • Used 3 or 4 different samples from all folders.
  • I created the kick drum from placing a microphone up against my throat and making a deep thudding noise, then filtered it to give it more of a 'kick'
  • Ended up making a few songs but moulded them together as a kind of medley

Had a lot of fun making this. Big shout to Chopfyt for this week's dope challenge!

Congrats to Chopfyt on the win, I quickly knocked something up this evening on the 2500 going back to my sampling roots for this one :weed: Used a sample from Don't Let It Get In and Endzak_1_T01. I sampled my voice for this one while also chopping a famous 6 seconds drum break, added an 808 kick for the bassline and borrowed a Cutty Ranks line from "Limb By Limb"

Looking forward to check what you guys did on this 8-)

i used parts of folder A & B and my voice for the bass line. I've been out of my element lately.. I had fun firing up the MPC for this one. :)

Is that the real Salt McGault?! Great seeing you back man. Looking forward to hearing what you cook up  :drum:
yea it’s me! good to being motivated to firing up the mpc. i foul tipped my #621 entry beat off my forehead 😂 rusty as fuck. It was fun though. I’m gonna dust myself off and get busy. I’m in des moines iowa and copped some dope singles with instrumentals and accapellas on wax, plus some dusty old hidden gems loaded with samples. I will be getting at you with those. didn’t get a chance to listen or vote. I’ve been busy with visiting my cousin.
