I was just offering suggestions, I don't really mind.

It's just sometimes I've wanted to vote for non-entries in the playlist, then realise they aren't viable once and have to go in and change my votes.

You could always run a poll/vote with some options - like we did for the voting system back in the day

I am definitly about opening it up.
But i am al ittle confused right now about the rules.
Let's take 5VXT
He posted a collabo with Jeff.
Can Jeff post an own entry as legit entry?
One Entry per forum account?

aha, i understand yes.. you're asking if depending on who posts, the other would be able to post a solo entry ?

i think it's meant like this: they can both do another solo entry..

which sounds good to me too..

the rewarding is the next matter..

i'm also expressing opinions of people not chiming in here but via dm etc.

i am getting enthusiastic about this collab category actually.. that would be just one vote .. not 1, 2, 3..

Regarding rules/collabs/entries:

I think we might be making it overly complex. While it's nice to get a win, I don't think most of us are driven by the contest as much as by the sample challenge and the various weekly guidelines themselves. I also haven't found that collabing, or having multiple entries for that matter, actually increases odds of winning the weekly battle. But that's just me. I also find collaborating across the internet to be a bit wonky, but I do think it's a good exercise as well as good for comaraderie and the STBB community, and they are fun to hear.

Lansky and I are currently using a shared studio space and have been a rap duo for 20 years, so I don't think we could stop collabing if we tried lol. When we do collab in STBB Land, it's almost always putting a verse on the other's instrumental. And we enjoy doing that sometimes when the rules allow for outside accapellas, which of late they usually do.

Ultimately, I think we can all agree that we want to have a good healthy competition and a welcoming environment for players new and old, but I also think we do a pretty good job of that already. : )

I support whatever makes the most people happy, but it makes sense to me allow 1 entry per SC page/Forum acct, regardless of who collabs with whom (unless the weekly rules specify ie the Microbeats week)

Hope everyone is having a great week! Lots of heaters so far and I look forward to hearing the remaining entries! - Cheers, Tony
