STBB 770 - Space Dust week

Let's set off STBB 770. This is Space Dust week

Image

Rules:
1. Flip the sample
2. Play a melody (or some kind of melodic element) in your beat by using a hiss-sound, a vinylnoise, a crackle or something of that kind. You can loop, stretch, pitchshift. Whatever you'd need to make a melody from a noisy sound. Imagine the texture of your melody as being Space Dust.

yea man, of course.. wouldn't wanna limit your creativity..
maybe bend the the reverb/delay after, to achieve a purely fuzz melodic element?
I was thinking of turning multiple compressors on and off and pitching them to get different layers going

there's stuff like this too..

just recorded some sounds in the kitchen too..

Dope dope glad to know! Those are some really interesting ideas! I just got output's portal granular fx plugin and it's quickly becoming a favorite of mine! Adds a lot of texture, movement, and spacing to sounds and is really great at transforming and dirtying up whatever you put it on. Was also thinking about adding it to the white noise in the background of the track to act as a pad way in the distance.

Black Friday brought me some new toys :D . Mangled the main sample with Cableguys ShaperBox and automated some reverb and sound efx via Valhalla Supermassive and FreqEcho (both free btw).

Yo what's good people?

Cooked up something this afternoon. Sampled a bit of vinyl crackle, also added some sample scratching sounds to give it some space dust. :blunted:

This week taught me something that kinda blew my mind. Perhaps you know about Shepards Tones. If not, you might wanna see this 3 min video on it:
