Bit behind the curve in the space race.
Just completed phase 2. Took out a few kicks here and there, side chained one of the hat patterns to an off beat hat to de-clutter a little and reduced the attack on the whole drum bus with a transient shaper. Chopped one sample. Will have phase three up by Sunday.

so there is already a lotta bass in the sample.. I wanna keep that.. it will come out better in the final mix.
so as a bass solution I chose a low to mid bass that fits the melancholy vibe and played a melody with it.. it comes in halfway.
also started the whole drumbeat a couple of milliseconds later so it swings better with the melodies.

OK here's my final track. I took the bass that was in the lower chops that I used and added subbbass to it and various other processing to shape it how I wanted.

Here is stage 3...
bassguitar and eguitar added. And i have repitched some samples.
Hmmm i am not very happy... Hope i can make something good until next week. I have a recording of the first drums on my sp. Sound is much more punchy. But not well mixed... Hope i can reproduce that somehow...

Started here
Then threw-in samples here
Then added bass without mastering, hence the amateur-ish levels and distortion..
Mastered it, and here we are

Going to jack GD idea as it a bloody good one
Started here with a basic drum pattern
Added a simple sample loop to work from
Added an 808 for the bassline to the samples and drums
Reworked the samples for the finalised version, added some chorus and reverb effects (Which I've over done just a little )

And finally stage 4
Rerecorded the drums through the sp and flipped also the samples again on the sp...
I think sound is nicer...
