AGHOIS + AGAMA winners of TRS016 have hand selected some records for this month's battle.
Let's try and make some dope beats with a LATIN THEME this time ... Music from Pete Zeldman, Piero Ciampi and Otto Sieben
Samples
RULES:
- Flip any of the samples however you please
- Outside drums, bass, synth, keys, vocal fx are fine
SPECIAL RULES:
1) FIND DRUM BREAKS FROM "Organ Grinder's Memory by Pete Zeldman" AND USE THEM IN SOME WAY
2) FIND VOCALS FROM "Il Vino by Piero Ciampi" AND USE THEM IN SOME WAY
Start Date 19th August.
End Date 19th September
Please upload your submissions with the title "STBB TRS017" in the beginning of your track title ...

I actually can't wait to hear all the submissions.. this should be a very interesting beat challenge. We got clear drums, a unique vocal element and I'm looking forward to checking out the new feels we get on these samples made out.

Samples are
! Used all 3 samples provided. Took some hihats and snare roll from the break and a part of the vocal from the Il Vino track and put a 'pingpong' delay on it. Added an acapella from Classe Crua (Portuguese).

Hi all, here's my first entry into one of these beat battles..
I kept it quite simple really, used all three samples and just added some hats and a little keyboard thing for the intro and bridge into the outro. The chorus is the bit I think translates to "This life is short / it is written on the skin".
Really nice samples, could have gone in a number of directions but this one just came together quite quickly and I liked it!
