Re: AKAI MPD 32. old equipment

OK fair enough, but you could have got one that was fully working for about the same price on eBay. As far as I know you won't be able to replace the circuit board to fix the dodgy knobs though, so you might just have to get a 'new' second hand one in due course anyway if you want one that fully wor...

Re: STBB #632

Oh wowza, this is definitley my best track yet. :D Thanks so much to Joa for providing these samples, both which I used for all my musical and vocal parts bar the bassline which I played, and to Kow for the great polyrhythmic challenge. I used it on my percussion tracks which repeat after 7 bars rat...

Re: STBB #632

Still feeling pretty vague on poly rhythm but I think I do it a whole bunch in my songs anyways so I'ma see what I can do Yeah us beatmakers often naturally do when we we layer up multiple chops of samples which have different rhythms, or we play chops in a polyrhythmic way against our beat without...

Re: STBB #632

Oh nice i've been meaning to get into polyrhythmic drums for ages! 8-) Dilla for example uses it on a few tracks where there is one chop part that loops after 7 bars rather than the usual 4 or 8 etc, but the rest of the parts loop on the 4 or 8, 16 etc as usual for 4/4 time signature tracks. Or DJ P...

Re: AKAI MPD 32. old equipment

I think I've had the MPD32 for at least 8 or 9 years. It normally works pretty well, but I've noticed the controllers getting more crazy recently. Can I clean it up some how? Or get it serviced? I thought about switching out the stock pads, and then I could maybe give it a good clean inside? Once t...

Re: AKAI MPD 32. old equipment

I've never used one of those MPD32's but I know they are/were, very popular MIDI controllers for beatmakers. I remember there was years it was always either one of them, Maschine or Push you would see DAW based beatmakers using. How long have you had it? I know it came out about 10 years ago though ...
