Re: STBB 692

I was happy with how this one turned out so decided to do a YouTube video for it. I’m feeling inspired to step up my game. :)

Re: STBB 692

Congrats Sashimix! Well deserved win! Here's my entry. I sampled both of the French tunes, got down with some VSTs, and even played some psychedelic guitar in the middle. This was the most enjoyable session I've had in a while. A bit quirky, but I've been listening to a ton of Beatles the last few w...

Re: STBB #691

Here's mine. I used that lovely Shigeo Sekito track. Only thing outside this week is drums and bass. I hope everyone is well. Peace.

Re: STBB #691

Congrats Nindyo! One question, other than the rules above, do default rules apply (no outside samples) or are outside samples OK? (Love the tracks you chose by the way!)

Nope! But will check it now! Thanks for letting me know. I hope they still have the 90-day trial! Do you know when/if they do big yearly sales?

Re: Melodyne for sampling - worth it?

Thanks. I might grab the demo. I’ve been watching some videos and it seemed like it has gotten better than it was when I looked at it years ago, but maybe it’s still not there yet for the kind of samples we work with here on STBB.

Melodyne for sampling - worth it?

Hi all, I’m just wondering what people’s’ thoughts are on Melodyne for sampling and what package you have? Am I correct that it does key detection as well? If so, how do the results compare with something like Mixed In Key? I’d love to hear any general impressions about Melodyne as it relates to sam...

Re: STBB #690

Here's my entry. I built this around the Jose Mauro, Stereo Lab, and Stravinski samples. I slowed that Stereo Lab sample waaaaay down to be able to play some notes in since the original was a rather dense mix. I added some drums, Moog, Buchala, and a bit of piano (VSTs, not loops) to take it on a co...

Re: STBB#689

Hope it's OK to post this here. This is a non-entry remix of my real entry above. My buddy wanted to hear rap vocals on it, so I threw this MF Doom/Westside Gunn remix together. Peace.
